This year marked the Austin Humane Society's third annual Rags to Wags event! This evening of canine couture and feline finery was held at the Austin Music Hall and hosted by Kevin Connor of ME TV and brought celebrities like Annmarie Lucus of NYC's Animal Cops, Anne Wolf, national boxing champion, KEYE TV's Ron Oliveira and Musician Elizabeth Wills, just to name a few. We were also joined by radio personlities Kim Stewart of Majic, JB Hager of the Mix 94.7 JB and Sandy Show and Carey Edwards of Mix 94.7. Designer Kendra Scott, Carole Keeton-Strayhorn, The Austin American Statesman's "Style Matters" Marques Harper, along with Sheriff Greg Hamilton and American Gladiator Ali Davidson joined us on the catwalk too! All of the furry fashions were courtesy of The Lofty Dog! Photography courtesy of Mark Rutkowski photography (www.MarkRutkowski.net)
Every year at Rags to Wags, AHS recognizes a leader in the community making a difference for animals in Austin. This year, Animal Trustees of Austin founder Missy McCullough was recognized for her service to animals and honored as AHS's 2008 Guardian Award recipient.
Mayor Wynn joined us and introduced our musical guest, singer/songwriter, Bruce Robison.
A unique array of silent and live auction items added to the fun. A guiltar signed by the Eagles, a Lake Austin Spa and Resort package, along with a NYC Westminster Dog Show package were the most popular in the auction.
A fantastic time was had by all while we raised money for the animals of the Austin Humane Society.

The fashion show kicks off with a theme of decades, here you'll see the 'slick' 50's
You ain't nothin' but a hound dog. That's Daisy, she's a 6 year old Hound, an AHS shelter dog, still waiting for her forever family.
I think she may have done some modeling in the past.
Poodles and poodle skirts - what fun!
I wonder if they make poodle skirts with other types of dogs on them.
Whoa, here comes that psychidelic dude from KEYE TV!
KEYE's Ron Oliveida is taking a trip down the catwalk with Butterfly, an 8 year old Rat Terrier from Galveston.
Butterfly was living in a shelter in Galveston when Ike blew in and destroyed it. AHS drove to Galveston and picked up Butterfly along with several other Hurricane Ike survivors.
Flower child Kim Stewart of Majic 95.5 carries her dog Max and walks Princess, a 17 year old rescued Poodle mix.
When Princess isn't modeling, she's a therapy dog at a nursing home.
Haas, from Round Rock Pet Salon, strutted with Statesman's Marques Harper.
They were sporting the 70's 'Entrepreneurial' look!
Here comes AHS shelter dog Sweetie wearing a disco dress imported from Canada.
It's still the 70's and Disco is king!
Stage diving was technically a thing of the 80's... Sweetie is definitely ahead of her time.
Carey Edward of MIx 94.7 and his dog Blaze start us off with our "Everything Austin" theme
As you can see, they are keeping it weird...
Blaze is wearing a leather collar with studs, a black t-shirt and a fuchsia tutu. How Austin can you get?
Peace out Carey! Thanks for coming!
Entertainer Dusty Biscuit!
JB Hager of Mix 94.7's JB and Sandy Show with his dog, Diva.
JB walked out to the classic song, "Sharp Dressed Man"
Diva is modeling an Anthony Nak original necklace made especially for this event!
The necklace was featured in our live auction.
Sheriff Greg Hamilton and AHS doggie who was a little scared to go down the walk.
Soooooo, Sheriff Hamilton takes the law into his own hands!
